Moose Creek #2 '05
I took this pic while standing at the approach end of rwy 4. This is the narrow canyon that you fly for a straight-in
to rwy 4, or a base leg to rwy1. It's tight, but quite doable if you keep your speed under control. That's the Selway
River below. Very popular with white water rafters.
This unfortunate Cessna driver didn't hug the rocks and trees while making his base leg to rwy 1. Here he is about
100 ft. high and has already used up a lot of runway. Fortunately for him, rwy 1 is 4,000 ft. long. He used almost
all of it before he was able to stop.
Doug and I climb out of the Selway River canyon on our way south to Johnson Creek.
